Date Night!!!!! Surprise to Eric!

I took Eric out on a SURPRISE date the other weekend!  A couple of weeks ago a friend of ours had forwarded an email about Jameson's Outdoor Cinema starting up again!  They put on movies for a few weekends.  So I signed up on their website to win free tickets to their viewings.  About two weeks later I got a call saying that I had won tickets to a specific night!  I was pumped because A) I NEVER win anything B) it was FREE C) it is Eric's FAVORITE drink D) we would be going out with just the two of us!!!!  I asked Destiny, a friend's daughter to come and watch the girls for us that Saturday night so that we could go out!  I also thought that while we were going out, we might as well eat out too!  Yes, dinner was NOT included but was AMAZING!  The movies were being viewed at a very swanky restaurant called "The House of Roosevelt!"  I guess Pres. Roosevelt's family does still own it along with some other Presidents still to this day!  Oh, and it is so beautifully located directly on the Bund!  So the view is just amazing!  We ate on the 8th floor terrace, the weather was beautiful and for most of the dinner, we were the only ones there!  We arrived at 5:30pm because our movie started at 7pm and the second movie started at 9:30pm.  So, we were eating at the time of the "oldies" so no one was there!  AWESOME!!  It was great to enjoy the food(still warm when I ate it instead of cold when I normally eat), being able to talk (without kids interrupting or having to go to the bathroom or having to feed them or entertain them) and just taking in the views!

Oh, and it was known for it's delicious steaks!  Steaks are something we haven't had since...since...I can't remember when we have had a good steak that actually tasted like the steaks we have back at home!  They actually import their steaks from Australia and the US.  Boy they were delicious as well as the rest of the food!  After dinner we made our way back to the first floor do get our seats for the movie!  They served you as much free popcorn and drinks (Jameson) as you wanted!

The movie, HORRIBLE!!  In fact, we walked out!  First, it was in Chinese (I guess we should have expected that) but they had subtitles in English, second, the plot was horrible if it even had one and was not the type of movie we would like to watch!

So, we left and just decided to walk around town!  Shanghai is such a gorgeous city at night!  It has the most BEAUTIFUL lights that I have ever seen!  We walked around, did a little shopping and treated ourselves to Starbucks!  It was a great night, one that we don't get very often here being away from family, but the girls did great with Destiny and maybe we'll have to start getting her on a more regular basis!  We'll see!
